I love making birthday cards for friends and family - and I especially love playing with letters and names. Therefore I couldn't resist making a card for my friend and send it to her for her birthday.
I started out with using the stitched cloud backdrop die on white Bristol smooth card stock. Then I made a circle mask and blended some distress inks in the circle. I used Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves and made sure to blend them as seamless as possible to make that nice gradient sky.
The clouds at the bottom were made with vellum and white card stock, using the stitched puffy cloud borders.
For the letters, I used Cole's ABC's - die cut them in my cuttlebug and let them stay in the negative so I could use the same distress ink blend I used on the circle sky. When ready, they also got a coat of clear Wink of Stella.
To color in the plane and the banner, I used my beloved Copic Sketch Markers in these colors:
Plane: YG11, G21, YG63, G94
V12-15-17
C0-1-3
Clouds and Smoke: C0-1
The little hearts and the cheeks of the clouds I stamped using Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick.
And of course, there are elements of Nuvo Crystal Glaze, white gel pen and some sparkle where needed. Otherwise it wouldn't be one of my cards, right!?
I'm entering this card to the challenge #21 over at lawnfanatics.com
Thank you so much for stopping by!
